At Hopewell Baptist Church, we're proclaiming hope in Jesus for the joy of all people to the greater glory of God.  We share in the founders' vision of the church, which comes from the teaching of Jesus, when He said, "You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Mattthew 5:14).  We are committed to historic Christianity, to the "faith which was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 1:3).  And we want people to experience the hope that only God can give.  "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).  Hopewell celebrated her 100th anniversary in 2005, when many pastors, ministers of music, deacons, former members, and others attended and shared stories of their times at the church.  It was a joyous occasion for all.  During that time, we restated the mission of the church, that we are "proclaiming hope in Jesus."

Our reputation is that we are a very warm and loving church.  We are a house of prayer.  Everything we do involves an attitude of prayer and thanksgiving to God.  We are a church that values families.  It is important to keep God first, which brings more love and unity in our marriages and homes.  We want to see marriages and homes restored to the glory of God.  We are here to help broken families heal and blended families adjust.  We want to build strong marriages and families to the glory of God.  We are committed to raising children who love the Lord and find their purpose in life.  We are committed to seeing youth and students come to know Jesus, grow in their faith, and be a good example to their friends.  We will help those who are called to special service too.  We want to see young adults and senior adults become more fully devoted followers of Christ.  We offer Sunday School classes for all ages and Wednesday night Bible studies too.  Dinners, block parties, and youth camps are also regular activities.  And we are a great commission church (Matthew 28:18-20), which means we have a global vision for the nations to hear the gospel and many to come to Christ.  God has been moving in many ways and we invite you to come be a part of what God is doing.
